Here at dancedad we want to know all about the people and the inspiration behind the UK’s favourite dance events. This week it’s the turn of Ultimate Dance Events to face our ‘5 questions……’

Who are the people behind Ultimate Dance Events and what has been their experience in the events/ dance industry?

“All our dance specialists at Ultimate Dance Events are connected to the performing arts industry either running schools, performing in the west end and around the world and studying dance and performing arts at some of the UK’s top colleges such as Arts Ed, Urdang London, Masters and Addict.

When did Ultimate Dance Events start – and has it lived up to your expectations?

“We began running events in Dance and Performing Arts back in 2008, Initially in promotional and display events such as wedding fairs and expos and then shortly after, dance competitions and camps. We are very proud of our reputation having ran our Kent Ultimate Dance Championships for 4 years now we are one of the souths most popular dance competitions and take great pride in providing dancers and their families and schools with hugely fun and exciting events.”

What aspects did you consider as particularly important when you started out – what did you want to achieve?

“First and foremost, we dance because its in our blood and we LOVE it and we wanted to ensure that all our dancers leave our events feeling their best. We are sticklers for timing and always do our best to keep to the schedule, parents are highly greatful for this! Lastly dance teachers have a hugely pressured job and we continue to pride ourselves in being as supportive as possible to them, After all they are super humans!”

We love reading about the background of judges when we’re at a competition – who are your favourite go to judges?

“We have had a huge amount of judges over the past 10 years however our favourite judges are the ones who take part because they just love it! The best ones for us have been; Darren Vinsen Carnall, Ben Davies, Nafisah Baba and Tash Richardson. We are also super lucky to be supported by so many vocational colleges and each year offer a judge from The Urdang Academy which is always exciting as they often give away superb prizes!”

Tell us about anything else that makes your events special, what can we really look forward to?

“We continue to provide a friendly, supportive yet super high standard competition platform. Our events sell out year after year long before our closing dates and we truly believe we are a firm favourite in many schools calendars because we make every dancers experience second to none. Whether its your 1st or 1000th time performing with us you will not be dissapointed!”
