All you need to know about the Dance World Cup 2019

On the eve of the Dance World Cup 2019, we take a look at the reason thousands of dancers from across the globe are descending on the historical city of Braga….

What is the Dance World Cup?

Dance World Cup 2019

Founded by former dancer Korinna Sohn, the Dance World Cup is “the greatest all-genre dance competition in the world for children and young adults.” Ten international dance schools took part at the first Dance World Cup in Fuerstenfeldbruck near Munich, Germany back in 2004. Since then it has been held in a different worldwide location each year.

In 2009 DWC Ltd was formed and the present format has proved incredibly successful –  this year the finals expect to play host to over 6,000 dancers from over 50 countries. Previous locations for the Dance World Cup have included Jersey, France, Spain and Austria .
